Content Management Systems
These have, quite rightly we think, had some bad press over the years - too complex and total overkill for the average company website. This is where our own brand CMS comes in. It's called PanPage and it's been designed from scratch to be easy to use - SOOOooo easy you'll wonder why content management wasn't always like this!
[02]
How easy is 'So Easy'?
Some parts of your website should change often, others less frequently. The hard part in many content management systems is finding the bit you want to change. So that's where we started...
- You can find your way around your own website, right?
- You can click on a paragraph or picture that lights up?
- THAT's how easy it is!
[03]
What can you change?
You can add, change or delete...
- text - words, paragraphs, lists
- pictures - big ones, little ones, with links, in slideshows and galleries
- links - to downloads, to other pages, to other websites
- embedded items - Google maps and YouTube videos for example
- pages - add new pages, organise drop down menus, multiple columns
[04]
What can't you change?
You can't change the site design. But that's a good thing - that's the bit you paid for and you'd probably rather not break it!
Inevitably some websites need custom programmed or scripted items and, while you can't edit some of these quite as freely as the rest of the site, we can still include pretty much anything we can put into a fixed website, even live stock market prices in one case!

Is It Search Engine Friendly
PanPage has not only been designed to be search engine friendly out of the box, but it positively encourages you to create search engine friendly pages. It gives you complete control over the page title and description (the bits you see in a Google search result) and the keywords meta tag (tho it seems none of the big three search engines use that any more).
PanPage will create an XML sitemap (including images if you want) and keeps it up to date as you make changes to your site. And, because PanPage uses discrete page files, you can still use Google Analytics website statistics too.

It must be expensive then!
It's true 'tha gets nowt fer nowt' and inevitably a content managed website will cost you more to begin with than a simple 'fixed' website, but not a great deal. And you'll have several years of saving on maintenance and update costs.
And since you can add new pages to your CMS website, if you're inclined you can start small and grow the site yourself. We're happy to keep costs down by building you a site with some completed pages and some in skeleton form for you to fill in yourself.
All our CMS websites come with a half day of hands on training with the CMS on your own website. And if you get stuck later we're always at the end of the phone.
